Microsoft Outlook 2007 Arrange By Size

Found it humorus this morning when I had to clean out my inbox that if you sort your emails by size (right click the blue bar at the top of the listing that says “Arranged By”), they are catergorized into “Enormous”, ‘Huge”, “Very Large”, “Large”, “Medium”, “Small:”, and “Tiny” folders.

How to Stop Facebook Email Spam

Tired of logging into your mail client to see something like this?

Me too. Usually I’ve already seen the new wall post or comment on my status before I check my mail, and the few times I haven’t, I feel like the anticipation of logging in to Facebook to see what’s new has been ruined. Luckily, Facebook allows you to change your email settings.

In the new facebook, simply click the ‘Settings’ link in the top navigation and then select the ‘Notifications’ tab. Here you can set your email preference on everything from being notified when someone pokes you to when someone you may know joins Facebook. I currently have 45 options that can email me (each application you use has it’s own settings as well, but usually only 1 per application).

As of 9/19/08, I will receive 0 notification emails.

Reply-all: the root of unproductivity

Any email sent to an alias with more than 10 people on it should NOT have the option to reply-all.

Gmail.Surprise

I logged into my gmail account this morning and had received a letter from someone I have never met before in my life. I was invited to a party for her daughter and granddaughter in San Jose. Needless to say I was confused as to why I had received the invite. In the TO: field, I saw ‘steveconroy’, although my gmail username is ‘steve.conroy’. I’ve always thought that mattered, but according to google there is no difference between steveconroy, steve.conroy, or s.t.e.v.e.c.o.n.r.o.y. Gmail does not recognize dots (.) as part of the username and therefore any mail sent to any of those accounts come to me. Interesting.

Update

The next time some annoying sales person asks me for my email address, I plan on responding “it’s steve…………….c.o.n.r.o.y…… at gmail.com.”
